A brief history of Reboot

Project One

Project One was our first real attempt at a game for the Jaguar.

Development began in mid-2009 and ceased around 3 months later, mainly due to exhaustion and external pressures on members of the team.

Enhanced from the original Beebris on the Atari ST, Beebris is a single-player puzzle game featuring several challenging game modes.

Based on the popular tetromino arcade games, Beebris has 40 levels of difficulty, web-based high score tables and one-more-game addictiveness.

It also has rather iffy controls in very early and later levels!

Full Circle – Rocketeer

Flying through space is no picnic. Commanding an intergalactic space vessel isn’t all plaid blankets and wicker baskets.

This was now something Space Corps Commander Gwyn Williams knew only too well, as, from his vantage point high in the upper atmosphere, he observed the fragments of his vessel scattered over the surface of this particular example of Big Solid Planet.

Sliced into three sections with the ship’s cargo falling from orbit all around him, he wondered how this day might possibly get any worse… Ah! Of course! An onslaught of deadly rocks – simply perfect!

Were you around in the 1970s? Were you lucky enough to own a Merlin hand-held electronic game? How about Lights Out if you’re a little older?

Oh dear, we can see a few of you are already going a little pale and looking for the nearest exit… yes, it’s that “classic” puzzle game, switch off all the lights and then do it again, and again, and…

Express Way

Expressway is a deceptively fun little minigame for 4 2 to 4 players (the more players, the better).

Until it was revealed at the European Atari Jaguar Festival 2013, we didn’t really have any idea how it would be received, as playing on your own is rather pointless and uninspiring. Put four people around two jaguar pads, however, and the game is quite entertaining for a few rounds.

Strange, alien craft linger menacingly over the surface. Heading closer to the ground, you can see scattered remains of the defense force. Battered and bruised, they still hang in there protecting the few survivors as long as they can.

Tightening your harness, you accelerate down into the chaos.

This is it.
